Shelia is a wife, a mother, grandmother, registered nurse, and healthcare consultant. She has a love and passion for God, family, fishing, and travel. Her hospice and healthcare consulting services provide invaluable guidance and expertise to Quality in Hospice Consulting clients. Her clients realize measurable improvement in client services, process flow, key performance indicators, and understanding compliance with industry regulations. With strategic planning and survey readiness tools, she has successfully assisted in opening many hospices with accreditation and Medicare certification. Before starting a consulting firm, Shelia worked in healthcare for 40 years. Her nursing career spans more than 30 years, with 22 years in the hospice industry. While working in hospice, Shelia has held positions as a field nurse, case manager, director of clinical services, administrator, regional quality manager, and Senior Vice President of Compliance, Education, and Quality. She developed orientation and educational programs and oversaw continuous leadership development. She has been instrumental in opening many hospice agencies and strategically planning for improvement to achieve successful accreditation and positive survey outcomes for all of the three accrediting agencies and the states of Texas, Louisiana, Nevada, Arizona, and California. After a successful career of helping thousands experience the benefit of quality hospice care, Shelia now reaches agencies across the nation to ensure they understand regulatory compliance to provide quality care at the bedside when their patients need it most.
